No referral is necessary to become a patient at our Food Allergy Center. You can schedule your initial consultation directly through our online portal, by calling 469-916-5504  or by completing our new patient form. We typically schedule new patients within 1-2 weeks, with urgent cases seen sooner. Self-referrals and physician referrals are both welcome.

Your first visit focuses on comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning. Depending on your recent testing and medical records, we may perform skin testing or an oral food challenge at your second visit, typically scheduled 1-2 weeks later. This approach ensures we have all necessary information to provide the safest, most effective treatment. Emergency medications will be prescribed on your first visit if needed.

We accept most major insurance plans and are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and others. Initial consultations and diagnostic testing are typically covered. OIT and SLIT may have varying coverage - our dedicated insurance coordinator will verify your benefits and provide a detailed cost estimate before treatment begins. We offer flexible payment plans and accept HSA/FSA accounts.

To make the most of your initial consultation:

(1) Bring all previous allergy test results and medical records,

(2) Complete our intake forms available ,

(3) Prepare a list of all allergic reactions including dates and symptoms,

(4) Bring current medications including epinephrine auto-injectors,

(5) List your questions and treatment goals,

(6) Plan for a 90-minute appointment,

(7) Children should avoid antihistamines for 5 days prior if skin testing is planned.

We treat patients from 6 months through adulthood. OIT can begin as early as 9  months for certain allergens, with most children starting between ages 4-6. There's no upper age limit - we've successfully treated adults.  Each age group has tailored protocols to ensure safety and success. Our team includes pediatric specialists and psychologists experienced in working with young children and anxious patients.

Our program achieves sustained tolerance in over 85% of patients who complete treatment. Success is defined as ability to consume a full serving (e.g., 2 tablespoons of peanut butter) without reaction. Most patients achieve "bite-proof" protection within 3-6 months and reach maintenance dose within 6-12 months. While not a cure, most graduates can eat freely with simple daily or weekly maintenance dosing. We provide detailed, allergen-specific success data during your consultation.
