Advanced Food Allergy Testing
At Safe2Bite, we believe in a patient-centered approach to food allergy treatment and care. Here is a look at what you can expect.
Step 1 - Telehealth Consultation
The first step is a remote consultation with our food allergy specialist, who will discuss your medical history and symptoms.
During the call we take time to understand more about your symptoms, any past reactions, and what you hope to get out of treatment. With this information we can discuss any immediate precautions, and prepare for your in-person visit.
Step 2- In-Office Evaluation
The next step is visiting our clinic near Fort Worth for diagnostic testing that may include the following.
Testing helps us confirm or rule out a food allergy and get a clearer idea of its severity and the risks involved. With accurate testing results we can recommend an appropriate food allergy treatment plan. All tests are conducted under medical supervision, allowing for an immediate response in rare cases of an adverse reaction.
The quick, in-office test involves placing a tiny amount of allergen extract on the skin's surface and scratching it gently with a small, sterile device to check for reactions, such as redness or raised bumps.
This simple test measures the level of specific antibodies (Immunoglobulin E) in your blood, helping determine allergic responses to certain foods.
This cutting-edge diagnostic tool involves consuming tiny, measured doses of the suspect allergen to confirm or rule out a food allergy.
Basophil Activation Test (BAT)
The innovative blood test determines whether certain foods activate a type of white blood cell known as basophils, helping distinguish true allergies from mere sensitization.
